Parents for Education Plus is an organization that was formed by parent volunteers about 35 years ago. Our purpose is to bring extended education opportunities to the children of Corvallis and the surrounding communities. We have brought OMSI to Corvallis for over 30 years, but our volunteers have also organized many other wonderful programs. We have presented Writer’s Workshops with authors such as Eric Dickey, Tom Birdseye, and Deborah Hopkinson. We have taken overnight trips to the Portland Zoo, Oregon Coast Aquarium, and Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. We’ve had math programs, cartoonists, art workshops, science programs, and taken field trips to OMSI, Green Willow Bakery, the Oregon Trail Museum, and Gilbert House to name just a few.
